Keyboard shortcuts
Lab mode is keyboard-first for the actions you repeat while wiring. These are the shortcuts the app binds today.
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
R | Rotate the selection a quarter-turn clockwise (each part turns in place). |
W | Switch between the Wire tool and the Select tool. |
V | Switch to the Select tool. |
Delete / Backspace | Delete the selected part, wire or parts. |
Escape | Abandon a half-drawn wire, return to Select, and clear the selection. |
Space | Run when stopped; otherwise pause or resume the run. |
Ctrl/⌘ Z | Undo the last board edit (up to 200 steps). |
Ctrl/⌘ Shift Z | Redo. |
Ctrl/⌘ Y | Redo (the Windows-style alternative). |
Ctrl/⌘ G | Group the selected parts. |
Ctrl/⌘ Shift G | Ungroup the selected parts. |
` `` | Toggle the developer overlay (frame rate, draw calls, component and net counts). |
A shortcut is ignored while the text cursor is in a form field, the code editor, or the console: there, the keys belong to what you are typing. Letter shortcuts such as R and W also do nothing while a modifier is held, so Ctrl/⌘ R stays the browser's reload.
Canvas gestures
| Gesture | What it does |
|---|---|
| Click a part | Select it; if it belongs to a group, select the whole group. |
Alt-click a part | Select just that part, ignoring its group. |
Shift-click a part | Add it to, or remove it from, the selection. |
| Drag a selected part | Move everything selected, in whole grid cells. |
Shift-drag on empty board | Draw a selection box; enclosed parts are selected. |
| Click a wire | Select the wire for recolouring or deletion. |
| Scroll | Zoom in and out (0.25× to 8×). |
| Drag empty board | Pan the view. |
The logic analyzer adds two more: click to place cursor A, Shift-click for cursor B, and the footer reads the time between them.
The inspector's empty state repeats the essentials — W wire, R rotate, Del delete, Ctrl/⌘ Z undo, scroll to zoom, drag empty space to pan — so you can recover them without leaving the app.
