Profiles

Every maker has a profile at pyrasp.com/u/<username>. Anyone can open one, signed in or not, so you can share the link. Profiles are kept out of search engine results.

Open your own by clicking your name in the top bar. Names on the leaderboards, in the community and on components link to their maker's profile.

What a profile shows

  • Problems solved, counted by difficulty and by set. Practice problems, past dailies and daily contests all count, and each problem counts once however many times you solve it.
  • Daily contests: how many you entered and solved, your best rank, and your average solve time and build cost on the days you solved. The ten most recent days are listed with their results.
  • Average practice build: the average cost of your cheapest passing build on each practice problem.
  • Components: the ones you made public. Copies of other makers' components aren't listed.
  • Recent comments, with the posts they're on.

Your email, your code and your private components never appear on a profile.

When a practice problem counts as solved

A practice problem counts as solved the first time Run tests passes every check while you're signed in. Practice is unranked, so this is recorded straight from your browser. If you solve it again with cheaper parts, the cheaper build's cost is kept.

Solved problems get a ✓ on the practice list.

A daily contest problem counts as solved when your submission is accepted. Today's problem joins practice tomorrow.

Your username

You choose a username when you sign up, and you sign in with it. If you sign in with GitHub, you start with your GitHub username, or a numbered one if that's taken. To change it, open your profile and choose Edit profile.

Edit profile is also where you set a display name, which shows on leaderboards, posts and your profile. Without one, your username is shown instead.

Usernames are 3–24 characters: lowercase letters, digits, - and _, starting and ending with a letter or digit. Changing it changes your profile's address, and links to the old one stop working.

Email and lost passwords

An email is optional. You can sign up with just a username and password, and add or remove an email at any time in Edit profile. It is never shown on your profile or to other makers, and PyRasp doesn't send newsletters.

When you add an email, PyRasp sends a link to confirm it's yours; Edit profile shows whether it's confirmed and can send the link again. With a confirmed email, Forgot password? on the sign-in form emails you a link to choose a new password (it works for an hour). PyRasp also emails you if your password or email changes, so you'd notice if someone else did it. Accounts made with GitHub start with their email confirmed.

Without a confirmed email, a forgotten password can't be recovered on your own. If you're locked out, the team can make a one-time reset link for you, but without a confirmed email there's no way to check that the account is really yours. Use a password manager, confirm an email, or sign in with GitHub, which doesn't need a PyRasp password at all.

With an email on your account, you can also sign in with it instead of your username.

Your data

Edit profile → Download my data gives you one file with everything PyRasp keeps about your account, including all your code. Edit profile → Delete account deletes your account and what you made; your community posts and comments stay, shown as "Deleted user". The privacy policy has the details.
